So a little history on me...In 2010 my life changed dramatically: I graduated college, bought a house, got married, became a finalist in the Paula Deen Real Women of Philadelphia cooking contest, won various recipe contests which even lead me to be on the TODAY show to do a cooking demo...yes this all happened in ONE YEAR! To see some of my TV appearances click here: "Cookin on Camera".
Since then I have taught at Viking Cooking School and local Farmers Markets promoting fresh recipes and having fun in the kitchen. Currently I work for a fresh pasta manufacturer in Nashville called Alfresco Pasta. I get to travel and visit chefs at some of the best restaurants and hotels in South to talk about our delicious ravioli...not a bad gig.
As far as my cooking style, I enjoy cooking food that leave people feeling refreshed and inspired after eating. I firmly believe food should be appreciated and savored. One of my true passions in life is getting in the kitchen and cooking, especially for the ones I love. I also like to talk, so teaching about cooking in front of an audience or on camera is another one of my favorite things. I want people to see that healthy food can taste great and look beautiful without being expensive and time consuming. I majored in Broadcast Journalism, but if I am going to be on TV I want it to be something people can watch to enjoy, learn from, and relax.

I do consider myself to be a health conscious person, and I feel that exercise is a part of life just like eating. But not everything I make is "health" food, I believe in indulging here and there, life's too short not to! Oh and I have a huge sweet tooth, but I don't consider myself a baker, I'm not patient enough-so any baking blogs you like, send them my way. I need all the help I can get.
Well, that's about it, I hope you enjoy my recipes, and thanks so much for stopping by!
This is about MORE than cooking for me...
Sometimes people ask me when I started to cook or what makes me like it so much. Well it is interesting because for a long time food and I had a love/hate relationship. I struggled daily with my body and how food affected it. In fact, it was on my mind almost constantly, to a point where it determined my mood. I loved to eat, but food was "bad" especially if I wanted to have "the perfect body." Through countless prayers, God never let go of me. Even though I was rejecting who he created me to be, he was faithful. He lead me to my husband, who truly loved me despite my struggles, and it was as if I could see how God saw me through Zach. There is more to my story, but I can tell you that my life has changed dramatically for the positive. Food is still a huge part of my life, but now in a very positive and exciting way. Cooking really gave me a new perspective on food, it is a beautiful thing.
